To day or not to day #129: Price System Care Authority (NZa) is unworkable - NZa failed year in year out. First by a former politician, and now four years by an ex-civil servant. Not what a complicated industry needs. The Parliament should not cheaply blame the insurers, but first appoint professional management to the NZa and demand that at the end of 2014 the claim system meets three requirements: timely disclosure of contracts, a reliable open ended arrangement and a price list, so hospitals and insurers can link the invoice to the report on discharge of the patient.
