To day or not to day #125: The Rotterdam security paradox - although everything is being done to make the city safer, discontent only increases. The fixation on security and especially the way it problematizes and physically invades the public space seems to have the opposite effect. Maybe it's time once another question to ask: how safe do we actually want to be?

A small low profiled group of Israeli businessman along with well known world public figures such as Dick Cheney and Rupert Murdoch are trying these days to drill oil in Ramat ha Golan in north of Israel. These drills might poison the main water source of Israel, the sea of Galilee, and destroy the local flora and fauna. But no one seems to care (A sad and true story.)

What do the politics and our choice of food say about us, about our values, cultural practices, our consciousness and lived aesthetics, as also a myriad of subtleties, including refinements. This piece is a parody of a battle seen in a miniature painting — a skirmish between a vegetarian and a meat eater (a non-vegetarian). What if the character depictions were reversed? How would we then see them?
