'Drawing the Times' is a platform where international graphic journalists and cartoonists publish work on global issues and local stories.
Graphic Journalism is a medium that isn't practiced by many people yet. Milou van Montfort was an intern at Drawing the Times. She made a weekly cartoon and worked on a series of articles about Turkish people in the Netherlands.

This episode of our Summer Special features a story by Gianluca Costantini about the outbreak of the current Zika virus which began almost a year ago in Brazil and has spread to other countries in Latin America and the United States. The virus is linked to microcephaly. Gianluca Costantini explains what the virus does, and shows how Roman Catholic church is reacting to the fact that the virus brings damage to the unborn child. Will Zika be a threat to the Olympic Games in Rio?

Every now and then 'Drawing the Times' publishes a special on a specific topic. Our 3rd episode featuring 'Drawing the Times' is one of these specials, about human rights, with a focus on the refugee crisis. The image is from 'Migrant's Stories' by Serbian graphic journalist Aleksandar Zograf.

This 2nd episode is by Judith Vanistendael, who lives in Molenbeek, the community of Brussels that became world news after the attacks in Paris on November 13. Some of the terrorists were born and raised there. Vanistendael shows us a side of Molenbeek we do not often hear about in the news.
